What We Do

The River Region Food Policy Council supports:

  • the promotion of food policies that will increase access to fresh, healthy food
  • research and public listening sessions for new policy ideas
  • the development of urban agriculture zoning codes, including those which allow produce sales from home gardens
  • policies that support the development of community kitchens for processing home-grown and community-grown produce
  • City Development Department incentives for new grocery stores in food insecure areas
