Zaxby’s co-founder, Zach McLeroy, will become the company’s chairman. In addition, the younger brother of former CEO and co-founder James McLeroy, Bernard Acoca, has been named Zaxby’s CEO. This comes after a year in which Zaxby’s restaurants fielded complaints from workers that they were exploited and discriminated against by management.

The company previously announced it was cooperating with law enforcement in that case. McLeroy’s experience of more than 30 years in the restaurant industry has proven invaluable in the expansion of Zaxby’s. Acoca, who has spent most of his career in leadership roles at companies, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. Bernard Acoca’s managerial style is poised to enhance that of McLeroy’s as they continue to grow Zaxby’s brand and technology. McLeroy will stay engaged with the company and remain on the board.

Zaxby’s Chicken provides delicious chicken strips, wings, sandwiches, and fresh salads. Each Zaxby’s serves freshly prepared, made-from-scratch food with flavors inspired from around the world. The restaurants offer more than 30 signature sauces, full-service bars, and Ozzie’s Kids Menu that satisfy the whole family. Zaxby’s is an Athens, Georgia-based restaurant with 828 locations in 10 states.

According to Bernard Acoca, the current concept has been conceived from the ground up to take it to a new level. Zaxby’s restaurants are driven by passion. All employees are passionate about Zaxby’s and strive for perfection every day by working hard to deliver quick service, good taste, and great value in a welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere.

The new CEO says he plans to bring his expertise to his team to ensure that customer satisfaction is the primary focus. He also aims to support his brother, the outgoing CEO, and his variety of initiatives. In addition to being inspired worldwide, Zaxby’s utilizes the latest technology in its drive to serve customers.
