Shelton Haynes collaborates with the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) Board of Directors and is appointed to put into practice the strategic aspirations and goals of the Company in alliance with the Chairperson, granting to the Board its authority role. As President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Haynes steers the enterprise to obtain its doctrine, mission, strategy, and annual and long-term aspirations and targets.
Shelton Haynes is liable for carrying out the executive and administrative functions and powers of the Corporation, as well as supervising and managing the Company’s business and matters. He previously held a position as Chief Operating Officer at the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC). His task was to watch over the everyday operations of the Island, including controlling the numerous administrative and operational divisions of the Corporation.
Before his role at the Housing Authority of DeKalb County in Georgia, where he was Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Haynes supervised all agency activities, both strategic and functional objectives, while superintending the executive leadership team. Through his direction, substandard departments could be converted into extremely effective units due to assessed key performance indices and checkups. His Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology was earned from Hampton University.
To construct a protected and safe milieu for the inhabitants, staff, business owners, and populace of Roosevelt Island. The PSD is a branch of the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC), the State agency that runs particular services and plans for its upcoming growth.
PSD helps enforce all governmental State and Municipal regulations, comprising traffic rules. Officials are tutored to be aware of these laws and rules, the laws of detention, and the Constitutional freedoms of the person. PSD officers have received intensive instruction for perceiving discriminatory crimes and crimes linking sexual attacks and annoyance.
