
Just about everyone who has access to technology is using it. That includes preschoolers learning computer basics in school. However, there are a group of people who do not have access to technology and nor do they have digital skills. Those are the refugees of the world. That is why Yuri Milner created the Tech For Refugees initiative in 2015.

Milner recognized that refugees face significant challenges with education, training, and employment opportunities. And, with the refugee population growing, Milner knew he had to do something. Yuri also knew that a significant amount of refugees’ challenges are due to their lack of access to tools needed to rebuild their lives. Therefore, Milner is providing refugees with access to smartphones, laptops, and other devices.

But Tech For Refugees doesn’t stop there. They also provide training, digital skills, and entrepreneurship skills to the refugees. Their aim is to help the refugees become more self-reliant.
The Tech For Refugees initiative partners with several organizations and institutions. They provide the refugees with access to education and employment opportunities.
As a prominent entrepreneur, Yuri Milner is also a venture capitalist and philanthropist. He has invested in some of the world’s most successful technology companies including Facebook, Twitter, and Alibaba, among others. In addition to Tech For Refugees he also is founder of the Breakthrough Foundation.
Milner became interested in technology young and was among the first investors in the internet boom in the 1990s. His first company, NetBridge, opened in 1996 and became the largest internet company.
In this age of innovation and technology, Yuri Milner leaves no one behind. That is why he created the Tech For Refugees initiative in 2015.
