Introduction

Randy Douthit is an American Executive Producer, Director, and Writer. He is best known for his creator/executive producer role on the MTV show Judy Justice.

The American Association of Advertising Agencies recognized his award-winning work, and he was personally awarded a silver medal from the United States Olympic Committee for his work on a Nike campaign.

While working as an advertising copywriter, Douthit began developing his material and went to film school at N.Y. University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts. Here he wrote, produced, and directed several projects for class, which were then screened nationally at Film Festivals in Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles.

Douthit’s first professional job in the entertainment industry came with Dreamworks, where he worked as a script reader for two years. Eventually, he was promoted to Development Executive, where he read and analyzed hundreds of scripts to discover what was working and what wasn’t at Dreamworks Pictures. He was eventually promoted to Development Executive, where he was involved with the development of several Dreamworks Animation and Dreamworks Classics projects which had the potential to become significant franchises.

When MTV Networks sought to acquire The Oprah Winfrey Show, Douthit was hired as a Creative Executive working alongside then-MTV Networks President Van Toffler and 8th Wonder Entertainment President Adam Sandler to develop new properties for MTV Networks. His first project there was a short-lived spoof of Married. With Children, entitled Married With Zombies, was filmed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and starred three actors who would later become stars on the big screen: Will Arnett (Blades of Glory), Portia Doubleday (Her), and Jason Jones (Wanderlust).
