Larry Baer is one individual with a rich resume as far as sports is concerned. He is a graduate of Harvard Business School and UC Berkeley. After graduating, he worked with Westinghouse Broadcasting and CBS Inc. to advance his career. Later on, he shifted his focus to sports and worked in Major League Baseball.
After working with them from the 1990s, he finally became the SF Giants CEO in 2012. In his first year as the Giants CEO, they scooped their second World Series Championship since 2009. It was a great achievement, and they continued with the same winning later in 2014.
Larry Baer has also done many other things besides being the SF Giants CEO. For instance, he is the one who supervised Oracle Park when it was being constructed in the 1990s. The park is considered one of the greatest parks.
On top of this, Larry Baer also chairs the Giants Development Services. The department is currently putting up a Mission Rock neighborhood just across Oracle Park. The neighborhood is set to play host to more than a million square feet of offices, open space, and parks.
He has been a member of many Major League Baseball boards, including the Business and Media Board, International Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee. The Giants CEO also holds many titles and honors.
Harvard Business School awarded him the Alumnus award in 2012. In 2014, he received an achievement award from the University of California. The same university also awarded him the Excellence in Leadership award five years later.
Most importantly, Larry is a family man who has a wife and children. The wife is called Pam, and they have been blessed with four children. They all live in San Francisco. He keeps a tight daily routine. He wakes up by 6.00 a.m. and works out. He then updates himself with current affairs by reading the newspaper.
