Don Lindsay, also known as “Captain D.Lo” is the Teck Resources CEO and a former National Hockey League player for Montreal Canadiens, Winnipeg Jets, and Vancouver Canucks.

Don Lindsay has been the president and CEO of Teck Resources Limited since 2008.

Lindsay started with Teck in 2002 as its general counsel, but has gradually risen up in the ranks since then to become one of Canada’s leading businessmen.

He was appointed by Toronto Mayor Rob Ford to serve on the city’s modernization committee and is also deputy chair of E-commerce Ontario’s board of directors. In 2011 he became a member of the board at Rogers Communications Inc., which runs cable TV services outside Canada. Lindsay has also served on the board of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Lindsay attended the University of Alberta for his undergraduate studies and later completed law school at the University of Western Ontario. He played hockey in his youth, but was cut from the team in his senior year of high school so he would have more time to do homework.

Lindsay made a career out of playing hockey and eventually played professionally for 13 seasons. He enjoyed a successful career as a member of Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets during which he was named to two all star teams, twice led league in assists, and also won two Stanley Cups with Montreal Canadiens in 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons. Lindsay played in a total of 681 NHL games, scoring 185 goals and 349 assists for 534 points. He retired early from his career in hockey to begin his law studies at the University of Western Ontario.

Under Lindsay’s leadership, Teck Resources has made new leadership changes and continued to grow its business. In 2012 he hired Jim Carr as the President of U.S Operations and Alan Knott-Craig as president of Canadian operations.
